SINGKAT BERDIRINYA SEKOLAH TINGGI THEOLOGIA PONTIANAK
Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Pontianak yang didirikan oleh
Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia Wilayah Kalimantan Barat pada tanggal 1
Agustus 1987, yang berkedudukan di Pontianak, Ibu Kota Propinsi Kalimantan
Barat. Berdirinya STT Pontianak sebagai realisasi Keputusan Rapat Kerja
Wilayah Kalimantan Barat tanggal 15-19 Januari 1987 di Kelansam Sintang. Pada
awal berdiri diberi nama : Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Kemah Injil Pontianak
(STTKIP). Namun demi masa depan sekolah sehubungan dengan perkembangan secara
kualitas dan kuantitas nama tersebut diganti dengan: Sekolah Tinggi Theologia
Pontianak (STTP).
Perkuliahan semester gasal (tahun pertama) Tahun
Akademik 1987-1988 yang dimulai tanggal 1 Agustus 1987 bertempat di Pastori
Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia d/a. Jl. Letkol Sugiono No. 15 Pontianak, dengan 7
orang mahasiswa dan 5 orang dosen. Pada tahun kedua, semester genap Tahun
Akademik 1988-1989 pindah ke Jl. Imam Bonjol, Kompleks Waduk No. 37 (nomor lama)
dengan memanfaatkan fasilitas Kantor Wilayah Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia
Kalimantan Barat (lantai dua). Kemudian pada tahun 1989-1994, STT Pontianak
sudah memiliki gedung sendiri yang beralamat di Jl. Gajah Mada 16 No. 8c.
Namun karena tuntutan perluasan kampus dan perkembangan ke depan, pada tanggal
1 Pebruari 1995 STT Pontianak pindah ke kampus baru yang terletak di Jl.
Perintis, Gg. Remaja 2, Kota Baru, Pontianak yang semula merupakan komplek SMP/
SMA Viyatha yang tidak beroperasi lagi. Kurang lebih 7 tahun kegiatan
perkuliahan dipusatkan pada fasilitas gedung SMP/ SMA tersebut yang
berkapasitas 4 ruangan, antara lain : 2 ruang kuliah, 1 ruang perpustakaan dan
1 ruang dosen/ kantor. Oleh anugerah Tuhan, pada tahun 2004 STT Pontianak telah
memiliki fasilitas yang cukup memadai sebuah gedung berlantai tiga yang
berukuran 15m x 28m, berkapasitas; 4 ruang kuliah, 1 ruang Kantor Ketua, 2
ruang Kantor/ Dosen, 1 ruang TU, 1 ruang Kantor Senat Mahasiswa, 1 ruang
Perpustakaan, 1 ruang chapel/ aula, 1 ruang komputer, dan 1 ruang doa.
Pada tahun 1999 lewat akreditasi tanggal 3 Mei 1999
oleh Departemen Agama RI, STT Pontianak berstatus “TERDAFTAR” di Departemen
Agama dengan SK Menteri Agama Nomor: 365 tahun 1999 tanggal 23 Juli 1999.
Setelah empat tahun kemudian yaitu tanggal 21 Oktober 2003 diakreditasi ulang
oleh Departemen Agama RI lewat Direktorat Jenderal Bimbingan Masyarakat
Kristen. Melalui akreditasi tersebut Jurusan Teologi/ Kependetaan
memperoleh status “DIAKUI” dengan SK Nomor : DJ.III/Kep/HK.00.5/143/4489/2003,
tanggal 24 Oktober 2003. Sementara jurusan Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK)
setelah lima tahun kemudian diakreditasi ulang mendapat status “DIAKUI” dengan
SK Nomor : DJ.III/Kep/HK.00.5/129/2008, tanggal 22 April 2008. Sejak
diakreditasi tahun 1999 telah lima kali mengadakan ujian negara dengan 195
orang peserta. Ujian Negara yang keenam akan diadakan pada tanggal 29 – 31 Juli
2008 yang akan datang.
Setelah kurang lebih 19 tahun berdiri, tidak disangkal
bahwa dalam beberapa tahun terakhir STT Pontianak mengalami perkembangan yang
cukup pesat. Secara khusus pada tahun akademik 2006-2007 mahasiswa mencapai 403
orang (dalam dan luar kampus). Para mahasiswa tersebut berasal dari berbagai
suku, daerah dan denominasi gereja, antara lain ; GKII (mayoritas), GKTI, GPIB,
HKBP, KGBI, GKE, GAPIN, GKPKB, GPPIK, GIA, GGRI, GPIBI, GKNI, GPDi, GBI, GPSK,
GSJA, dll. Dosen yang mengajar berjumlah 23 orang; purnawaktu 10 orang dan 13
orang paruh waktu, juga berasal dari berbagai latar belakang denominasi gereja.
Sangat diharapkan dengan adanya fasilitas gedung yang cukup memadai, program
sekolah yang terus ditingkatkan serta sarana penunjang lainnya seperti
dibukanya matakuliah komputer, program digital dan laboratorium komputer yang
ditunjang oleh 25 unit komputer dengan dosen/ tenaga ahli, STT Pontianak akan
lebih berkembang lagi dalam menciptakan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) yang
berkualitas bagi gereja, bangsa dan negara yang olehnya pula nama Tuhan akan
terus dimuliakan.

However, due to the expansion of the campus and the demands of future developments, on February 1, 1995 STT Pontianak moved to a new campus located on Jl. Perintis, Gg. Remaja 2, Kota Baru, Pontianak, the original is a complex SMP / SMA Viyatha are no longer in operation. Approximately 7 years lecturing activities centered on building facilities junior / high school with a capacity of 4 rooms, among others: 2 lecture halls, a library and a faculty room / office. By the grace of God, in 2004 STT Pontianak has adequate facilities of a three-story building measuring 15m x 28m, capacity, 4 classrooms, 1 Office of the Chairman of the room, 2 room office / Lecturer, 1 administration room , 1 room Office of the Senate students, a library room, one room chapel / auditorium, a computer room, and a prayer room.Accreditation in 1999 through the date of May 3, 1999 by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, STT Pontianak status "LISTED" in the Department of Religion with Ministerial Decree No. 365 of 1999 dated July 23, 1999. After four years later on October 21, 2003 re-accredited by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Directorate General Guidance Christian Community. Accreditation through the Department of Theology / Clergy gained the status of "APPROVED" by the Decree No. DJ.III/Kep/HK.00.5/143/4489/2003, dated October 24, 2003. While majoring in Christian Education (PAK) after five years and then get re-accredited status of "APPROVED" by the Decree No. DJ.III/Kep/HK.00.5/129/2008, dated 22 April 2008. Accredited since 1999 has held five times the state exam with 195 participants. The students were from different tribes, regions and denomination churches, among others; GKII (the majority), GKTI, GPIB, HKBP, KGBI, GKE, GAPIN, GKPKB, GPPIK, GIA, GGRI, GPIBI, GKNI, GpdI, GBI, GPSK , GSJA, etc. Lecturers who teach numbered 23 persons; 10 people full-time and 13 part-time, also come from different backgrounds denominations. It is desirable in the presence of adequate building facilities, school programs are continuously improved as well as other supporting facilities such as the opening of the course computer, digital programs and computer labs are supported by 25 computer units with lecturers / experts, Pontianak Theological Seminary will grow even more in creating a Resource Human Resources (SDM) who qualified for the church, nation and state by whom also the name of the Lord will continue to be glorified.
